Dance You Off (Benjamin Ingrosso)
After school-hours publicly-subsidised music classes for children.
That’s how Sweden keeps producing great Eurovision entries, year after year.
Treating you good, we were gold
I dug you like you were treasure (treasure)
So don’t act like I’m the cruel one
When I know you know better (when I know you know better)
I don’t know what I love more here – the nonchalant coolness of “I dug you like you were treasure” or the way Ingrosso/the song phrases “So don’t act like I’m the cruel one, when I know you know better”. I’m calling it a tie.
Ingrosso, who is just 20 years old, won Melodifestivalen on his second attempt (he placed fifth last year). Since Eurovision 2011 Sweden has finished 3rd, 1st, 14th, 3rd, 1st, 5th, and 5th. How will they do in 2018? Top 5? Top 3? Worldwide radio hit? I would never underestimate the Swedes when it comes to music. Because of all the after school-hours publicly-subsidised music classes for children.
