Heartbeat (Don Johnson)
Released during the peak of Miami Vice’s success this single helped its parent album, also called Heartbeat, climb to #17. Johnson’s only other charting single was the follow up Heartache Away which only made it to #56. He released one further album, 1989’s Let It Roll and was also featured on Barbara Streisand’s Till I Loved You album. Their titular duet from that record made it to #25.
Fun fact: There were multiple official Miami Vice soundtracks but none of Johnson’s songs appear on them.
