Native New Yorker (Odyssey)
1977

You should know the score by now
You’re a native New Yorker

Despite name-checking an American city this song performed better on the pop charts in the United Kingdom than in the USA – it reached #21 on the Hot 100 but #5 in on the UK singles chart. The US Disco/Dance chart liked the song, however, taking it to #3. This was the first hit for Odyssey, the group itself being a “native New Yorker”, formed there in 1977.
Fun fact: Songwriters Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell also wrote Use It Up and Wear It Out for Odyssey, a song that was a UK #1 in 1980.
