Weekend in New England (Barry Manilow)
1976

With you I could bring out
All the love that I have
With you there’s a heaven
So earth ain’t so bad

Manilow wrote many of his greatest hits but not this one. This classic ballad comes courtesy of Randy Edelman who had a minor career as a singer but is best known as a composer. His work includes the soundtrack to the movies Ghostbusters II and Twins, as well as the theme to the MacGyver TV series.
Fun fact: Despite being in the title the word “weekend” doesn’t appear in the song at all.
